Impressed

I'm kindda impressed with one of my students, yesterday, i had a class, so was explaining about surface tension in liquid,so ... i ask the class a question that my little brother asked me
What is the use of surface tension??
told the class about the question that my little brother asked, before this, i could not think of any, then at that moment it came to me, the use of surface tension would be giving the ability for small insects to slide on water, then i ask them if there was any other applications. None could not give me a reason, and they asked me "so miss, what's the answer" i told them,
" i can't think of any other right now, and i told my lil brother to googled it"
all that was basically a story for them.
AND,
Today, i had a text message from a student, saying, sorry for the late reply, and he then continued with the applications of surface tension.
- make it possible for plants to transport water from root to other parts of plant
- injection using needle is possible with the help of surface tension.

so, i am sooo impressed with this one particular student who take the extra effort in looking up the answer and text me the next day. KUDOS to him~!

  1. Haha that's nice.
    I think the mudskipper (I don't know what the actual name of that animal is) uses the surface tension of the water in a still lake or river to hop/glide on the surface of the water.
    Also, it might be for contact lenses to stick to our eyes (I don't know, just an educated guess right here). What do you think?

  3. hey, i have double checked it~! yea, due to surface tension of water makes it possible for ppl to wear contact lense, nice guess Schwarz.Ziffer .. 2 thumbs up :P :)
