Honestly, i am soo freaking worried for all my students right now, they have just done their test, and well, since i'm worried, you guys could guess the result of the test ,right....,??!
i really want them to do well in all of their subjects (not only mine), being a teacher/lecturer, sometimes (most of time) it's very obvious who was paying attention in class and who was not... and the test result proved me right.
higher education is not like high school, it's very different, basically, in high school, students were spoon fed, but not in higher education, students have to know how to learn on their own, beside being guided by the lecturer.
In my experience as a student, you have to pay attention in class, if u don't and with the thinking of "i can study later/study when the exam is near" u are sooo wrong, imagine, exam is around the corner, and u are struggling to do a "force memorization" of EVERY subject, it's really not a good idea u know, it's critically important that u UNDERSTAND the subject in question, cause, one thing is that the exam question WILL NOT be a photocopy of the examples / questions that u have done in class (the one that u have tried sooo hard to MEMORIZE).
I really wish this test result will be a wake up call for those who didn't do so well (eventhough it's kindda a cruel wake up call and some students might fell demotivated(DON'T!!) cause it actully should push you to work harder to get better result), and a motivation for those who did comparatively well (Please do not be overconfident, it can kill you).
I wish the best for all of my students....
